Built for Precision. Tuned for Flash. Trusted in Hard Real-Time Systems.
eXtremeDB/rt is built for real-time certainty. With deterministic execution, native integration with leading RTOS platforms, and optimized flash memory access, it empowers mission-critical applications in aerospace, automotive, medical, and industrial domains to operate with absolute predictability and fail-safe reliability.
Hard Real-Time Capabilities
Complex data management under tight timing constraints—requiring predictable transaction scheduling, priority-aware concurrency control, and deterministic execution—is a hallmark of modern real-time systems. The pioneering architecture of eXtremeDB/rt is purpose-built to address these challenges. It preserves the temporal validity of data and guarantees predictable execution of database transactions, ensuring reliable, deterministic performance in time-critical systems.
Integrated Flash Memory Support
eXtremeDB/rt supports a wide range of flash configurations through modular storage architecture. For hard real-time systems, it includes a built-in Transactional Flash Translation Layer (TFTL™) that interfaces directly with raw flash media—providing maximum control, minimal latency, and full determinism. When a third-party Flash Translation Layer or file system is present, eXtremeDB/rt operates seamlessly over it via its integrated I/O layer, simplifying development without compromising performance or reliability.

eXtremeDB/rt wins Best in Show: Software at embedded world 2026!
Problems solved: eXtremeDB/rt is the only commercial off-the-shelf hard real time database management system. It also supports both unmanaged raw flash (deterministic) and managed flash (embedded) devices, giving developers the freedom to balance transaction latencies with design complexity and eliminate the need for a file system on resource constrained devices.
