McObject and Soljet Form Distribution Partnership In Taiwan
September 27, 2001 — McObject LLC today announced that Soljet Computer Company Ltd. has become the Taiwan distributor for McObject’s data management technology, effective immediately.
Soljet’s focus on selling mobile connectivity and protocol software is “highly complementary” to McObject’s goal of providing the best data management engine for intelligent, connected devices, McObject CEO Steve Graves said. McObject recently launched eXtremeDB, a small-footprint main memory database manager built from scratch for such devices.
“Two key challenges face developers of set-top boxes, mobile handsets and other high-tech gear. One is supporting greater wired and wireless connectivity, and the other is managing growing volumes of complex data,” Graves said. “Together, McObject and Soljet offer compelling solutions to these needs, in one of Asia’s leading electronics development hubs.”
“McObject’s eXtremeDB joins the Bluetooth and IrDA wireless protocols and other connectivity solutions within Soljet’s software tool-set for device developers. We have been quite successful with Bluetooth and IrDA, and we believe we will be successful with eXtremeDB as well,” said Martin Fan, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Soljet.
