Germany’s ESE Kongress 2015 Chooses McObject CEO as Speaker

September 22, 2015 — McObject® announced that Embedded Software Engineering (ESE) Kongress 2015, one of Europe’s largest embedded systems technology conferences, has chosen McObject CEO and Co-Founder Steve Graves as a speaker at this year’s event, to be held in Sindelfingen, Germany on November 30 through December 4, 2015.

Graves’ presentation, titled “Dynamic Memory Allocation – Justifiably Taboo?” deals with the somewhat controversial questions of whether embedded systems developers should rely on the C and C++ languages’ ability to hand out memory resources to application processes as needed, at run-time. It weighs dynamic allocation’s benefits – primarily convenience – against its risks, which include memory leaks, fragmentation and unpredictable performance. The talk leads to an understanding of the technique as a “blunt tool” and presents more precise and safer alternatives in the form of custom allocators that match specific allocation patterns.

“Dynamic Memory Allocation – Justifiably Taboo?” is scheduled for December 1 at 5:35 p.m. at the Congress Center Stadthalle in Sindelfingen.
