Another successful year ends for McObject, with IoT & Big Data Analytics award wins and new products

18 December 2019, London:  McObject® developer of the ultra-fast and scalable eXtremeDB® for HPC database management system, had a very successful year. Significant new product announcements and important award wins in the IoT and Big Data analytics spaces illustrated its drive to offer their customers the best possible database management technology.

In November McObject released v8.1 of eXtremeDB, with a range of sophisticated technical enhancements, including: enhanced parallel query execution, support for multi-tier IoT topology in its Active Replication Fabric, network discovery, low-level network compression, support for Scala, Python stored procedures and compatibility with several tenets of AUTOSAR (Automotive Open System Architecture).

In May it launched the eXtremeDB IoT Software Development Kit (SDK) which quickly won the prestigious ‘Best in Show’ award in the ‘Development Tools and Operating Systems’ category at the Internet of Things (IoT) World conference and expo in Santa Clara, California; the award is tremendous recognition. McObject’s new offering runs on IoT devices, gateways and/or servers, a bundled setup that represents excellent value for customers and streamlines the development process.  Notable in this new release is the Active Replication Fabric for seamless IoT replication.

Another success was to be named ‘Best Big Data Analytics & Technology Provider’ by the Inside Market Data & Inside Reference Data Awards’. eXtremeDB was chosen for its ability to address FRTB financial markets regulation which, among other changes, will mean an estimated 10x increase in data needing to be processed, analyzed and reported. With its record-setting data processing speeds and ability to handle extremely large and complex time-series data sets, eXtremeDB gives organizations the necessary compute and storage capacity to easily excel under such demands.

Steve Graves, CEO and founder of McObject, said: “I’m very pleased with the awards we received this year, particularly in the IoT space, not least because IoT is such a rapidly growing and evolving industry, even more so in wearable tech.” He continued: “I’m delighted with our new products, and the availability of eXtremeDB for HPC database management system on AWS. As we see greater uptake in IoT and Big Data, our team is looking forward to an interesting 2020, with new developments and challenges.”

The year has also been a success in terms of award nominations, with McObject shortlisted by:

  • FStech Awards 2019 in the ‘Best Use of Data and Analytics’.
  • National Technology Awards in the ‘Analytics Product of the Year’ category for efficiency in real-time and historical data analysis.
  • RegTech Insight Awards in the ‘Best Software Solution for FRTB’ category.
  • Data Management Insight Awards for Best Data Analytics Solution Provider and Most Innovative Data Management Solution.
  • IoT Global Awards, best DBMS for Big Data, Cloud and Analytics and Connected Health or Wearable Tech.

McObject’s eXtremeDB for HPC for cloud, analytics and financial systems is ultra-fast, scalable data management technology. eXtremeDB is exceptionally reliable and robust, and used in systems that cannot afford to fail such as stock exchanges, networking and telecom equipment, aerospace and defense, railway systems and nuclear power plants.
