The Real-Time Database Kernel You Can Shape, Shrink, and Control
Flexible by design
eXtremeDB/rt is engineered for mission-critical real-time systems where flexibility, efficiency, and determinism are non-negotiable. At the source code level, the kernel can be tailored to match specific system requirements—minimizing footprint while extending real-time guarantees all the way to flash storage hardware.
With full control over kernel configuration, developers can include only what is needed and exclude the rest. This makes it easy to adapt the kernel to different RTOS scheduling policies, time measurement methods, and synchronization primitives—without sacrificing efficiency or predictability.
Modular, compile-time configurations
eXtremeDB/rt retains the essential components of eXtremeDB required for real-time, safety-critical, and mission-critical applications, simplifying adoption while ensuring continuity with proven technology.
The kernel is structured for modularity and simplicity. Features can be compiled in or out at build time, allowing developers to balance memory footprint, stack usage, and other resources with the data access features required by the system. Unneeded components such as indexes or tracing options can be excluded, reducing overhead. At the same time, eXtremeDB/rt preserves deterministic transaction control and predictable real-time performance, with direct flash memory support extending these guarantees down to the storage layer.
