XtremeDB 4.5 Enhancements Include JDBC Driver, Improved Indexes, Expanded SQL Support & Integration With Solace Message Router

McObject has released eXtremeDB version 4.5. Enhancements include a level 4, version 4 Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) driver, improved SQL and High Availability interfaces, more efficient and scalable versions of hash and R-tree indexes, and faster transaction managers.

The upgrade also targets high performance, mission critical applications by integrating the eXtremeDB High Availability (HA) edition with Solace Systems’ Solace Message Router. The integration enables the Solace device to serve as the communication channel or "wire" in an eXtremeDB-HA deployment. The Solace router’s guaranteed message delivery feature enables use of a streamlined HA protocol and messaging process, resulting in a significantly faster transaction rate. Get details.

Perst /SQL Server Synchronization Available for WP7 Smartphones

Developers in the open source community have provided software aimed at enabling the Perst for .NET database system running on Windows Phone 7 devices to synchronize with Microsoft SQL Server databases. The new open source code, called PerstSyncProvider, resides on the client and integrates Perst with the Microsoft Sync Framework Toolkit.  This enables developers to use Microsoft Sync Framework with Perst as its "offline cache" for storage on WP7 devices; the framework services, database logic, change-tracking, session management and handling of client requests. Developers have placed PerstSyncProvider at http://perstsyncprovider.codeplex.com for free download.
