McObject Signs Logic Technology as Distributor In Benelux, United Kingdom and Scandinavia

March 8, 2002 — McObject has expanded sales and promotion of its eXtremeDB small footprint, main memory database in the Benelux countries, the United Kingdom and Scandinavia through a distribution partnership with Logic Technology BV, one of the Netherlands’ leading re-sellers of embedded systems development products.

After considering adding different embedded database software packages to its product line, Logic Technology chose eXtremeDB. “We were impressed by the McObject founders’ depth of experience in embedded data management, and by eXtremeDB’s capabilities and technical profile,” said Leon Houwen, Logic Technology general manager.

As a main memory database, eXtremeDB eliminates the performance overhead of traditional disk-based databases and delivers the performance required in real-time applications, Houwen said. In addition, eXtremeDB provides database source code, a necessity for many embedded systems developers who require complete flexibility and control, he said.

“We expect a very positive reception for eXtremeDB in the telecommunications industry, one of our largest markets. Another promising segment is consumer electronics, where competition to rapidly and economically develop new product features drives the need for proven, off-the-shelf data management,” Houwen said.

“Logic Technology is an ideal partner for McObject, in both the geography and industries it serves. We are pleased that with eXtremeDB, Logic Technology can add a proven main memory database engine to its suite of embedded development tools. We look forward to collaborating in support, marketing and other areas that will enable our joint customers to build state-of-the-art embedded solutions,” McObject President and CEO Steve Graves said.
