McObject Expands Into France and Italy With Antycip as Distributor

March 8, 2002 — McObject announced it has formed a distribution partnership with Antycip, a major European embedded technology reseller. Under the agreement, Antycip becomes the provider in France and Italy of eXtremeDB, McObject’s ultra-small footprint, main memory database management system for intelligent devices. The company will also train and support eXtremeDB users.

Antycip, based near Paris, provides a complete hardware and software tool set for embedded systems development. The company will introduce McObject’s eXtremeDB to its large customer base as a solution for efficiently managing growing volumes of complex data within devices such as set-top boxes, network switches and industrial automation.

Antycip also plans to market eXtremeDB at industry events, starting with the RTS EMBEDDED Systems 2002 show in Paris on March 26-28, where the company will exhibit in booth H24.

“Embedded systems developers find that next-generation devices feature real-time data management. By replacing proprietary data structures with a proven solution, McObject’s eXtremeDB offers our customers a way to cut development time while increasing scalability and reliability,” said Daniel Ait Akkouche, Antycip real-time activity manager.

“We expect a positive reception in major French embedded development market segments including communications equipment, medical, military, industrial, and multimedia devices,” Akkouche said.

“Our new partnership with Antycip is an important step forward in McObject’s path toward global representation,” McObject President and CEO Steve Graves said. “We seek partners that combine an established business presence with an understanding of embedded development. Antycip embodies both of these qualities, and its comprehensive product line complements eXtremeDB well.”
