McObject’s New Japanese-Language Web Site Shows Commitment to Customers and Market

July 21, 2005 — McObject® has launched a Japanese-language Web site at www.mcobject.jpn.com. The new site posts the latest information on McObject, its eXtremeDB™ in-memory embedded database and related technology, as well as Japan press releases, seminar schedules, software downloads and other items of specific interest to this large and dynamic embedded systems development market.

The new site highlights McObject’s continuing emphasis on serving Japan’s developers and manufacturers, and on working in partnership with its distributor, Tokyo-based Gailogic, to provide data management that streamlines customers’ development processes, reduces their manufacturing costs and makes the resulting technology products more competitive.

McObject and Gailogic demonstrated this commitment earlier this year by participating, as exhibitors, in Embedded Systems Expo and Conference, Japan’s largest embedded systems trade show. In summer 2005, McObject and Gailogic also hosted seminars in Japan to provide technology professionals – including embedded systems engineers as well as corporate managers – with the latest information about eXtremeDB, covering its features as well as actual and potential uses.

“Japan’s developers and manufacturers are among the most demanding in the world in terms of product quality. For this reason, after launching its business in Japan, McObject has focused on establishing best business practices there, on timely delivery and on the quality of its software and services,” McObject CEO Steve Graves said.

The effort has paid off with a growing list of customers that includes some of Japan’s largest technology and consumer electronics manufacturers. In Japan, McObject’s eXtremeDB in-memory database has achieved several “firsts,” such as becoming the first off-the-shelf database management system to be embedded in a personal MP3 player for consumers.

“As McObject’s dedicated partner in Japan, Gailogic supplements its broad experience in embedded systems technology with expert McObject support, training, implementation and sales,” Gailogic CEO Hiroshi Kakiuchi said. “We are excited about the launch of www.mcobject.jpn.com because it adds another means for customers and the public to obtain timely information about eXtremeDB in the Japanese market, 24 hours per day.”

About eXtremeDB

With eXtremeDB, McObject offers a database management system to meet the unique performance requirements and resource constraints of intelligent, connected devices. eXtremeDB provides critical data management features—including transactions, concurrent access, High Availability and a high-level data definition language—while maintaining a tiny code footprint (as little as 50K). As an in-memory database system (IMDS), eXtremeDB delivers the real-time responsiveness demanded by consumer electronics, automobiles, industrial control applications and other embedded systems.

eXtremeDB also provides sophisticated development capabilities, such as support for varied data and query types, a high-level data definition language, and a powerful debugging environment including a self-diagnostic API that catches a wide range of common programming errors before they slip into runtime code.

Free evaluation copies of eXtremeDB are available from McObject’s Japanese-language Web site, www.mcobject.jpn.com, as well as from www.mcobject.com.
